Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel

Chanel was a french designer that changed the style of wartime dress by introducing Jersey fabric into her clothing. She created two piece sporty clothing that was perfect and practical for 'Wartime chic'.
Jersey had originally been used in menswear and sportswear however Chanel made Jersey the want of the fashion world which makes it what it is today. other designers were quick to copy her designs because women loved her clothes so much.

Chanel was the first fashion deosgner ever to put her name to a fragrance. Chanel No.5 was a huge hit and became an iconic product. She designed the bottle of perfume herself.
