Nail art really hit off in the Noughties, it was considered a major accessory to any outfit. And the crazier it was, the better! The first example of how it set off was when Chanel's Jade green nail polish was released and it sold out in 40 minutes!! People became more experimental and nail art was a hit.
Fashion Through Time
Sunday 10 March 2013
Celebrities turned designers
In the Noughties, a lot of celebrities used their image and high profiles to their advantage and teamed with companies and turned designer. For example, Kate Moss for Topshop, Lily Allen for New Look and Madonna for H&M. Some celebrities even took it upon themselves and created their own fashion lines. For example, Victoria Beckham, The Olsen twins, Alexa Chung and Agyness Deyn.
E - Fashion
One thing that did majorly change for fashion in the 00s is that it was now available on the Internet! Before people relied on fashion magazines like Vogue to deliver them the latest trends, but now they could get the images before the shows had even finished! And fashion is so widely available on the Internet more people could get interested and get involved.
Agyness Deyn
I consider Agyness Deyn to be one of the fashion icons of the 00s, she was one of the supermodels of that decade and she reeked unconventionality. With her short platinum blonde hair and forever changing style - I think - she reflected the decade. From punk to Michael Jackson, to corsets, to vintage she was a constant fashion icon.
Nothing is too dramatic
The fashion in the Noughties changed a lot, from the bling bling craze in the early part of the decade to the 80s revival, Nu Rave and Boho chic throughout the decade. But nothing was ever too crazy, you could do and wear what you wanted and no one would question it. Some people even wore their underwear on the outside of their clothes! (Katy Perry).
And finally we have, The Noughties!
Welcome to the Noughties - naughty naughty. The decade that brought us the iPod, Facebook, the Twin Towers disaster, the first black president, and many more...
Chokers
Chokers were a big fashion trend in the 1990s. They were a necklace that fit closely around your neck and quite high up. Most women owned one and would wear them out clubbing/raving.
