Sweated Industries

Sweated Industries

The sweated industries is a term used for poor working conditions in factories and different workplaces. Child labour laws may also be repeatedly violated. Roughly between 1850 - 1900 these 'sweated industries' were most popular, it was mostly children that they used to work in these factories because they were cheap labour. During this time there was a famous photographer who sneaked into these factories and took photos of what was going on inside these factories. His name was Lewis Hine.

Child working in a cotton factory, as you can see the conditions and tidiness of the factory is poor.

Minnie and Max are brother and sister who were sent to work in the factories for extra money for their family.

Another child working in a sewing factory. The      condition of their clothes was poor and they were treated horribly.
